What it is

A cruise missile for tactical aviation. According to Militarnyi, the manufacturer lists the Su-30MK, Su-34, Su-35S, MiG-35S and MiG-29K as carriers. The newest version, the Kh-59MK2, flies up to 285 km and carries a 310 kg warhead.

What it means for you

The aircraft launches it much closer to the target than strategic missiles are launched, so less time passes between a report of tactical aviation activity and the strike. When the siren sounds, go to a shelter.
