What it is

The cruise missile of the Iskander system: HUR lists it in its catalogue as the 9M727. Despite sharing a name with the Iskander-M, it flies differently: low and along a route, like other cruise missiles, not on a ballistic arc. That is why on our map the Iskander-K is a cruise missile, not a ballistic one.

What it means for you

If the feed says “Iskander-K”, this is not a ballistic threat with minutes to spare, but a cruise missile that can be tracked along its route. Still, it flies fast and low: when the siren sounds, take shelter.

What to do

  1. 1When you hear the “Air raid alert!” signal, go to the nearest shelter at once. Find out in advance where it is near your home and work.
  2. 2If you cannot reach a shelter, move to a room without windows and follow the “two walls” rule.
  3. 3Agree with your family on what to do and where to meet if the phone network or the power goes down.

A marker on our map may appear late or not at all. Go by the siren, not by the map.
